Cecilia Aalvarez Rigaudias is the EMEA Privacy Policy Director at Facebook since March 2019. From 2015 to 2019, she served as European Privacy Officer Lead of Pzifer, Vice-Chair of the EFPIA Data Protection Group and Chairwoman of IPPC-Europe. For an interim period, she was also the Legal Lead of the Spanish Pfizer subsidiaries. She formerly worked 18 years in a reputed Spanish law firm, leading the data protection, IT and ecommerce areas of practice as well as the LATAM Data Protection Working Group. Cecilia was the Chairwoman of APEP (Spanish Privacy Professional Association) until June and is currently in charge of its international affairs. She is also the Spanish member of CEDPO (Confederation of European Data Protection Organisations) and member of the Leadership Council of The Sedona Conference (W-6).

She is a member of the Spanish Royal Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation in the section of the Law on Technologies of the Information and the Knowledge as well as Arbitrator of the European Association of Arbitration (ITC Section). She formed part of the Volunteer Group of Privacy Experts of the OECD (Working Party on information Security and Privacy; WPISP) in charge of the 2013 review of the OECD guidelines governing the protection of privacy and transborder data flows of personal data. She formerly participated in the Group of Experts selected by the Spanish DPA to prepare the Madrid Resolution on International Privacy Standards in 2009.

Cecilia has written numerous publications on data protection and regularly lectures on data protection, IT and ecommerce at different Masters Programs and seminars.

Dr. Stefan Brink has been the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Baden-Württemberg since January 1, 2017. He was elected by the Baden-Württemberg state parliament for a term of six years.

From 2008 to 2016, he was Head of Private Data Protection at the State Commissioner for Data Protection of Rhineland-Palatinate, and since 2012 he has also been Deputy State Commissioner for Freedom of Information of Rhineland-Palatinate.

After receiving his doctorate under Prof. Dr. Hans Herbert von Arnim (German University of Administrative Sciences Speyer), Stefan Brink worked for the Scientific Service of the Rhineland-Palatinate State Parliament, then as a judge at the Koblenz Administrative Court and as a research assistant at the Federal Constitutional Court (1st Senate, Prof. Dr. Reinhard Gaier).

Susanne Dehmel has been a member of the Executive Board of Bitkom since October 2014, where she is responsible for the Legal & Security business unit and the topic of artificial intelligence.

She is a member of the Enquete Commission of the German Bundestag "Artificial Intelligence - Social Responsibility and Economic, Social and Ecological Potential". She also represents the business community on the Expert Council for Consumer Affairs of the Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection and is on the Data Protection Advisory Board of Deutsche Telekom AG. For Bitkom, Susanne Dehmel also serves as deputy chairwoman of the Self-Regulation of the Information Economy Association (Verein Selbstregulierung Informationswirtschaft e.V.). (SRIW) and of Deutschland sicher im Netz e.V. (Germany Secure on the Net).

Susanne Dehmel is a lawyer and completed her law studies in Passau, Freiburg and Cardiff. Before she took over the area of data protection at Bitkom, she was responsible for the areas of copyright and industrial property rights from 2002-2009. She has been head of the data protection department since 2010. An important part of her work is the promotion of trust and security in the digital world and, in particular, the practical further development of the legal framework for the digital economy and society.

He has met with thousands of privacy officials and leaders worldwide. Peter has managed scores of regulatory actions around the world, and appeared before some of the world’s highest courts. Prior to joining Google, Peter worked for 10 years at Microsoft, as EMEA privacy leader and Director of Regulatory Compliance.

Peter is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School. He is an elite swimmer.

Stefano joined Facebook in 2019 and leads the EMEA Privacy policy team. In this role Stefano guides the EMEA product policy function, which focuses on all privacy-related policy aspects of Facebook products and services including Facebook, Whatsapp, Instagram and Oculus. He also directs the EMEA privacy policy function and routinely engages with legislators, regulators, privacy experts and academics in the EMEA region.

Before joining Facebook Stefano worked for 10 years with the Telefonica Group, where he was responsible for all legal matters arising from the Global Digital Services and Big Data divisions of the Telefonica Group as well as Telefonica Insurance and Financial Service Divisions.

He routinely appears before European Authorities (EU Commission, EU Parliament, national regulators), as well as Latam and US authorities. He is a regular speaker at international conferences on data protection, privacy and technology.

Alex has served as Director of the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield program since July 2019. In this role, he is responsible for management and administration of the Privacy Shield program, as well as policy regarding transatlantic data privacy, data flows, and digital trade issues. Prior to joining the Commerce Department, Alex served as Senior Advisor in the Office of the Coordinator for Communications and Internet Policy at the U.S. Department of State. In that role, he was responsible for global data privacy issues, surveillance, law enforcement access to data, civil liberties, data flows, digital trade, as well as digital economy policy in Europe. Previously, from 2016 to 2017, Alex served at the White House as Senior Policy Advisor for Economic and Technology Policy at the National Economic Council. His responsibilities included EU-U.S. Privacy Shield implementation, EU Digital Single Market engagement, G-20 digital economy outcome negotiations, China digital economy and cybersecurity issues, APEC Cross-Border Privacy Rules expansion, and a range of other matters at the intersection of technology and foreign policy. From 2015 to 2016, Alex served as Director for the European Union, Southern Europe, and European Economic Affairs at the National Security Council, and oversaw negotiation of the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield. Alex was a career Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. Department of State for 18 years. Alex holds a B.A. in International Economics and Russian Studies from George Washington University.

A father of four, Didier Reynders was born in Liège on 6th August 1958. In 1981, he obtained a degree in law at the University of Liège. Guest lecturer at the universities of Liège and Louvain, he has never really left the academic life until he became on 1th December 2019 European Commissioner for Justice.
After presiding the Belgian railways and the Belgian Airways Agency, he was elected Deputy Chairman of the PRL (Liberal party), before becoming a Member of Parliament in 1992.  
On 12th July 1999, he became Minister of Finance (until 6th December 2011) and, on 18th July 2004, (concurrently) Deputy Prime Minister (until 30th November 2019).
He was Chairman of the Mouvement Réformateur (liberal party alliance) from 11th October 2004 until 14th February 2011.

He was Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and European Affairs from 6th December 2011 until 11th October 2014.

He became Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs, in charge of Beliris and Federal Cultural Institutions on 11th October 2014 (until 30th November 2019).

He has also been Minister of Defense since 9 December 2018.

Since 1th December 2019 he is European Commissioner for Justice, in charge of Rule of Law and Consumer Protection.

Barbara Thiel was elected by the state of Lower Saxony's Parliament as Data Protection Officer for Lower Saxony on the 18th December 2014 and has been appointed for eight years. Her task is to supervise the adherence to data protection rules by public authorities as well as by companies and other private organizations in Lower Saxony and to protect the right on informational self-determination by doing so. Barbara Thiel grew up in the town of Salzgitter. After she started her career with the community of Salzgitter, her law studies in Göttingen and legal clerkship in Lower Saxony she worked for the Ministery of the Interior in Lower Saxony, for the Central Auditing Authority of Lower Saxony and for the county of Wolfenbüttel. At last she was Head of Department at the region of Hannover.

Rebekka Weiß is a fully qualified lawyer and also holds a Master of Laws in "Intellectual Property and the Digital Economy" from the University of Glasgow. She studied in Potsdam and Lausanne (Switzerland) and completed her second state examination. She gained practical experience, inter alia, in her work at a law firm with a focus on data protection and competition law.

Michael Will was appointed President of the State Office for Data Protection Supervision on 1 February 2020 for a period of five years.

After studying law in Würzburg and completing his legal traineeship in Bamberg, he began his professional career as an administrative lawyer in the services of the Free State of Bavaria at the government of Upper Franconia in Bayreuth in 1995. After moving to the Supreme Building Authority in the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior in 1997 and to the Bavarian State Chancellery in 2000, Michael Will became head of the Department of Public Safety and Order in the Landshut District Office in 2002. At the same time, he was Managing Director of the Zweckverband für Rettungsdienst und Feuerwehralarmierung Landshut. In 2006, he returned to the Supreme Building Authority in the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior as an advisor in the subject area of road law.

In 2009, Michael Will was appointed Head of the Data Protection Department at the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior for Sport and Integration. He also held the office of the official data protection commissioner there and was a member of the Data Protection Commission of the Bavarian State Parliament.

On behalf of the Bundesrat, he accompanied the entire deliberations of the Council Working Party on Data Protection and Exchange of Information (DAPIX) on the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) from 2012 to 2015 and also performed the tasks of the country observer in the committee pursuant to Art. 93 of the GDPR, which is involved, for example, in the adoption of adequacy decisions by the European Commission.

Miriam Wimmer is currently a Director at the Brazilian National Data Protection Authority. She holds a PhD degree in Communications and Cultural Policy from the Faculty of Communication of the University of Brasilia, and a Master degree in Public Law from the State University of Rio de Janeiro. She took part in the one-year International Division Program of Waseda University, in Tokyo, with academic distinction.
She is a professional civil servant since 2007 and a Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E), with experience in senior positions in different public organizations, such as the national telecommunications regulator, Anatel, the Ministry of Communications and the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovation and Communication, where she worked on the Brazilian Digital Transformation Strategy and the National AI Strategy. She is also a Professor of Law at IDP Brasília, lecturing on personal data protection and regulation of new technologies.

In addition to his training as an electrotechnical assistant and industrial clerk, Mr Zechel has also worked as an employee in an IT system house. After working as an independent consultant, he has been Managing Consultant of migosens GmbH since 2011. His customers include companies from the telecommunications and energy sectors, as well as companies from the healthcare sector and SMEs. Mr Zechel is an IRCA Lead Auditor ISO 27001 and approved by TÜV Rheinland as Lead Auditor for ISO 27001 and critical infrastructures (§ 8a BSiG) and ISO 27701. In addition, he is also well versed in various other topics. These include: Trainer and lecturer at the International School of IT Security (isits): Basic IT Protection BSI and ISO 27001, Business Continuity Management (ISO 22301).

Anke Zimmer-Helfrich is a lawyer and is head of the journals Recht der Neuen Medien at the publishing house C.H. BECK in Munich.

As Editor-in-Chief she is responsible for the conception and management of the magazines "MultiMedia und Recht (MMR)" and since 2011 the "Zeitschrift für Datenschutz (ZD)" including the news services MMR-Aktuell and ZD-Aktuell. In addition, she conceives further magazine, book, seminar and online projects.

Previously she worked as managing editor for the magazine "Computer und Recht (CR)" until 1996. Since 2002 she has held a teaching position for "Journalism and Law" at the Westfälische Wilhelms University Münster.

In addition to IT law, telecommunications law, copyright and media law as well as e-commerce, she has many years of expertise in data protection law.
