Tsuzuri Sakamaki
Personal Information Protection Commission

As Counselor of the PPC Secretariat, Sakamaki has been developing and implementing the PPC’s international policy and measures to promote the cross-border personal data transfer and protection while advising the commission members on determining and adopting the PPC’s overall strategy and organizational goals.

Prior to joining the PPC in June 2016, as a visiting scholar at Stanford University, he pursued an academic study and analysis on the impact of the world crisis originating in North America and Europe on investments in the Asian economies with respect to not only foreign direct investment (FDI) but also private-sector financial institutions’ investment in Asian stock exchanges and other capital markets.

In the field of information security, from 2013 to 2015, he was managing a Ministry of Finance (MOF)’s office to oversee the development and implementation of procedures and practices for measuring and monitoring information security risk incurred by the MOF’s Regional Finance Bureaus’ information systems and networks.
