Prof. Dr. Kai von Lewinski holds the Chair for Public Law, Media and Information Law at the Faculty of Law at Passau University, Bavaria, Germany since 2014.
He co-heads (“stllv. Sprecher“) the research training group “Privacy and Digitalisation” (DFG-Graduiertenkolleg 1681/2 “Privatheit und Digitalisierung”).
From 2013 to 2014 he served as Research Director (“Wissenschaftlicher Leiter”) at the federal Data Protection Foundation (“Stiftung Datenschutz”) in Leipzig.
From 2000 to 2004, he worked as a lawyer (“Rechtsanwalt”) at the international law firm Lovells (then Lovells Boesebeck Droste, today Hogan Lovells), both in their Frankfurt and Berlin offices.
