Without data, the business basis is often missing

Being able to work with personal data is an important competitive factor for many companies. For almost half of all companies in Germany (46 percent), the use of personal data is even the basis of the business model. This is the result of a representative survey of more than 500 companies commissioned by Germany’s digital association Bitkom.

3 out of 4 companies fail to meet the deadline of the General Data Protection Regulation

The two-year transition period for the implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) has almost expired - but only a quarter (24 percent) of companies in Germany are fully compliant with the new rules from their own perspective by 25 May 2018. One in three companies (32 percent) will have implemented them for the most part, the same number (33 percent) at least partially. This is the result of a representative survey of more than 500 companies from Germany.
